The 2nd Dubai Health Regulation & Medical Tourism Conference and 11th World Health Tourism Congress took place at the InterContinental, Festival City. The two-day conference which was organized by the Dubai Health Authority, was held in Dubai from the 4-6 October 2016.
The event brought together professionals involved in the medical tourism industry to explore the many opportunities for expanding Dubai’s role as a global hub for medical tourism. Dubai already enjoys its global popularity as the fourth most visited city in the world and it plans to make healthcare part of the lifestyle experience with an impressive range of premier accredited hospitals and over 35,000 healthcare professionals from all over the world.
Dubai Health Experience is a new brand developed by the Dubai Health Authority, which was launched in April 2016 by His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council. DXH aims to make Dubai a global destination for medical tourism.
The opening speech was made by His Excellency Humaid Mohammed Obaid Al Qatami, Chairman of the Board and Director General of the Dubai Health Authority.

The purpose of the conference is to encourage the best practices among medical regulatory authorities in the region and to ensure and maintain a high standard in the fast evolving medical industry. Key speakers from around the world were invited to address relevant topics and to share examples of the best practices around the globe.
Team Greece was represented by four speakers and led by Dr Constantine Constantinides, Director of HealthCare cybernetics, member of the Scientific Committee. Starting in 2006, Dr. Constantinides is responsible for introducing several Innovations and “firsts” to the Health Tourism Industry.
It was a great honour to be invited as a speaker at the 2nd Dubai Health Regulation & Medical Tourism Conference where I addressed the audience on two subjects, firstly on the role of “Storytelling” in promoting and marketing Medical Tourism to the Consumer and the secondly on the Role and Value of Education in Medical Tourism.
