This newest beachfront flaunts everything from graffiti-filled urban streets, to wide boardwalks, to art murals to gorgeous breezy beachside restaurants. It’s a place to go to so you can spend an entire day there – play, unwind, eat and shop. It’s simply one of our favorite destinations in Dubai for an entire day filled with things to do, the perfect contrast to the hustle and bustle of Dubai’s glitz, glam and constant energy.
Here are some of the top reasons to visit La Mer:
Chilling at the beach at La Mer
This is the most obvious reason for visiting La Mer. The beach is the main destination for you to go to so you can get that perfect tan.
Think of your toes in the sand, wind in your hair and crystal clear waters taking this eclectic beachfront to the next level. If you want to get a little bit fancy, you can always book a cabana at Sea Breeze. There are stylish outdoor toilets, outdoor showers, colorful umbrellas and everything you need to have a hassle-free day. [/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]
Take part in watersports
A lot of people venture all the way to La Mer to indulge in watersports. Of course the watersports are not free – but you can choose from so many options. Whether you want to paddleboard, or you want to rent an inflatable floatie (well, that’s not really considered a sport, but we’ll pretend it counts!), or you want to fly board – La Mer has all these options and more.
Laguna Waterpark is where you should head to if you want to take part in all water-related activities. Fly boarding, jet skiing, wake surfing and much more. Don’t forget to try out the The WaveOz 180 – a surf machine that allows you to catch waves in a realistic surf simulator. [/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]
For the kids – Hawa Hawa is a heaven
Hawa Hawa basically translates to “Air Air” in English, but it’s a great place (specifically for kids, but also for people of all ages), and is a unique entertainment concept. This dune-shaped playground is an inflatable one that is suitable for all weathers, all ages, and all people. You can choose between low-impact or high-intensity types of activities and there are even dunes that are made specifically for kids under 6 years old. [/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]
Dining at La Mer Dubai
You’ll probably be itching for a nice meal after a long day by the beach. La Mer brims with countless restaurants and cafes that cater to all needs, and while it isn’t exactly budget food, the food there is a haven for all you food enthusiasts out there. You’ll find everything from Belgian waffles to hearty Arabian meals to Spanish octopus, so the choices are endless. You can also choose from healthy food options + dessert.
Shop till you drop
How does shopping around some of the best stores in Dubai with a great view to match sound like? You can shop till you drop with the idyllic beach right on one side, and big-brands on the other side. There are quirky boutiques, beachfront stores, and of course some big retail stores like Sephora. There is no doubt that it’s definitely more fun to shop here than at a mall.
Up Your Instagram Game
The best thing about La Mer is the fact that it literally doubles as a playground of creativity, graffiti, art and architecture. The playful architecture juxtaposing with decorative art, the grungy installation, the contemporary design elements will make you feel like you’ve just been transported to the streets of Berlin and Prague. It completely differs from the skyscrapers and glitter and gold you’ll probably be used to at Dubai.
